There has been talk about the elimination of what America knew as the middle class in recent months.  Now existing is a more definite line of demarcation between the rich and the poor.  Debt to income ratio for many has created an environment for the loss of homes, the downsizing of vehicles, the lack of health care and the loss of assets intended for future usage as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds have been cashed out early.

It used to be that one could strive to finish high school and go on to college to get a “good education” only to exit college to get a “good job.”  Now, student loans are hard to repay because the good education doesn’t always result in a dream job in the field of study.  Additionally, external factors which require immediate attention like transportation, food, clothing, and shelter take preeminence in daily survival. 

Gas prices soar correlatively with the prices of food.  The cost to manage a household inclusive of expenditures for food, shelter, and utilities requires frugality and wisdom. Mortgage loans with variable interest rates and exorbitantly priced rental property make day to day living quite a task.  Frustrations mount as money is hard to come by but so elusive when received.  Pay is seldom comparable to experience, education and execution of work load and much of America is stressed out trying to find a way to make ends meet, when the ends seem to get farther and farther away from each other.

What can one do to survive this recession?  What can one do to rise above the strain of an oppressive economic structure?  What is the answer to how to protect your assets and secure your retirement? 

The answer is simple.  It requires obedience, dedication, consistency and faithful belief in the principles of the word of God.  It is in His word that humanity is provided with the protection and support that it needs through “The God Economy.”  One survives the pressure of this world by willingly participating in the guidelines God’s world where His throne is exalted and His will enforced.

There is no quick fix to financial change.  As with anything, the true implementation of “The God Economy” in your life is a process.  Not too many people become millionaires overnight.  Furthermore, those who do must have a stable mind to be able to handle such wealth or it will be easily lost. 

First things first, should you desire to abide by the statutes of the God Economy; you must first accept the Lord Christ as personal savior.  Sure, the principles of the word of God are enacted as it relates to finance when one obediently follows.  However, the complete and full benefit of having the supernatural power of God released in your life only comes through the acceptance of the fullness of who He is.  Romans 10:9 describes the process of salvation requiring that willing participants confess with their mouths and believe in their hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead.  At that instant, one is adopted into the family of God and righteousness is imputed.  All rights and privileges afforded to all others in the kingdom of God.

In the kingdom, there is a code of conduct, rules and principles which determine how well a kingdom member lives on earth.  One such plan laid out in the Scripture expresses the God Economy. 

Malachi 3:10 specifically instructs every kingdom member to bring a tithe or a tenth of his income into the storehouse of the Lord.  These storehouses are our local churches where we are to bring ten percent of our income.  This ten percent is holy unto the Lord and when not given brings a curse upon one’s self.  God calls the withholding of the tithe robbery.  However, the presentation of the tithe brings certain specific benefits:

            1. God will open up the windows of heaven and pour out blessings that you will    not have room to receive.  God will literally make available to the obedient tither          blessings which will be too numerous and too bountiful to even store! The       obedient tither will be filled to overflowing with the gracious blessings of the        Lord. 

            2. God rebukes the devourer for your sake.  God ensures that your possessions,      health, family or anything that could be attacked and harmed is stayed by His own      hand because of the obedience to the tithe.

In this Scripture alone we find that the God Economy yields provision, protection from harm and sickness, and peace as no matter what the external economy is.  Within God’s Economy, one can still experience wholeness without stress as God’s word can be trusted to come to pass.  Numbers 23:19 informs the reader that God does not lie.  He furthermore stands garrison over His word to perform it. 

In order to consistently give the tithe for the advancement of the kingdom, one must most assuredly have a renewed mind (Romans 12:2).  One’s mindset must change from the system of the world- which is more concerned with getting than giving- to the kingdom which predicates receiving upon giving.  The God Economy does not stop with the tithe; to fully engage the blessings and benefits points towards the giving of offerings as well. The Scripture instructs: “give and it shall be given unto you, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men given unto your bosom” (Luke 6:38).  In other words, when you give, God ensures by way of His word that men give back to you in abundance. 

There are many instructions throughout the Scripture which point towards the God Economy.  Searching the Scripture to find out more will provide the reader with a wealth of information on how to operate in God’s Economy.  He has predetermined a way for kingdom members to follow in order to provide them with provision, protection and peace.
