TEEN CHALLENGE RADIO
Celebrating 50 years of saving lives, Teen Challenge New England is a faith based 15-month minimum residential program for men and women with life-controlling problems in the areas of drugs, alcohol and serious legal and social problems. The goal of Teen Challenge is to provide men and women with effective and comprehensive Christian based solutions in order that they may become mentally sound, socially adjusted, physically well, emotionally balanced and spiritually well, thus becoming productive members of society.
The overall objective of the program is to initiate a total change in values and lifestyles in the student by applying biblical principles in their lives. We have trained, capable staff who live on the premises to ensure an atmosphere of warmth, trust and support. The students are involved in academics and work training. We provide counseling sessions on a weekly and as needed basis regarding drug and alcohol abuse as well as marriage, fatherhood, anger management and other issues.
We facilitate a Family Ministry Support Breakfast that promotes healing and understanding to the individuals and families as they seek to improve relationships damaged by substance abuse.
Teen Challenge has an academic curriculum which is mandatory that a student complete before commencing the program. The first of four phases is composed of four units each dealing with a specific aspect of life (i.e. family relationships, spiritual growth, self image, work and responsibility). There are also 14 group study classes, which include Anger, Honesty, Temptation and Attitudes. In addition, there are 48 Character Quality Courses that relate to Love, Patience, and Gentleness to name of few.
This curriculum as well as additional classes teach principles of life, which will equip each person with an understanding of how he can deal with his problems, and overcome them successfully.
Teen Challenge provides the students with three daily meals, full laundry service, clothing, haircuts, toiletries and cosmetic items. We provide the students with Bibles and all their study materials to obtain their G.E.D., which we mentor. They are also provided a staff member to represent them in their legal matters.
Teen Challenge provides the students with leadership, counseling and vocational opportunities in the areas of food culinary, fund raising, communications, clerical and other ministry related business functions. We own and operate a TEEN CHALLENGE THRIFT STORE, CATERING, STARMAN CARWASH I & II AND RECORDING PRODUCTION utilizing Teen Challenge students and staff whom have recently graduated the program.
All programs are provided without cost to the taxpayer since Teen Challenge is a faith-based organization, which receives no government funding. Many of our students have gone on to use the training that we have given them to better their lives.
With the many ministries we have in Teen Challenge New England, we now have Teen Challenge Radio. An internet radio ministry which Forcefully Advances His Kingdom through the tools of communications and music. We have a variety of in house programming and air many types of syndicated programming as well. Music ranges from contemporary to worship and even gospel. There is something for everyone on WTCR.
WTCR is a great vocational tool as it allows students to receive hands on training for computers and audio production. The ministry teaches students hand on music scheduling as well as programming. This is only the beginning stages of what God has planned for Teen Challenge New England and WTCR.
One can listen to WTCR 24/7 on the internet by simply logging onto our website. WWW.TEENCHALLENGERADIO.COM.
