“Sonsofday is a remarkable band that displays the best of what Christian music has to offer.” – JesusFreakHideout.com
NASHVILLE, TENN.) -- SONSOFDAY started 2009 with a bang, taking home the Best Pop Video of the Year award for their debut music video "This Place" at the 2008 Gospel Music Channel Video Awards on December 26th. The four Belonozhko brothers make up the Portland-based Christian rock group, which spent 2008 traveling the USA to promote their debut album Fragile People (Red Hammer Records/Infinity Music Distribution), which is now in stores.
"We are blown away by the support our fans have showed voting 'This Place' as the 'Best Pop Video' of 2008," says lead vocalist/guitarist Vlad. "And we're so thankful to the Gospel Music Channel and all of the numerous shows and networks that have aired this video extensively."
The band shot six music videos for the project, including “Fragile People” and the award-winning “This Place,” both of which are in regular rotation on numerous video shows and networks, including JCTV, Gospel Music Channel and others. The videos were combined with exclusive behind-the-scenes and touring footage for a full-length DVD release now available exclusively at the official online store at www.sonsofday.com.
Though SONSOFDAY has certainly earned a well-deserved vacation, they are pressing forward with the start of the new year, logging studio time to record the follow-up to their successful debut album for independent label 1964 Records. While still taking shape, the untitled album is sure to include the road-tested songs “Revolution” and “People Get Ready” which have become fan favorites in recent months.
Vlad, Roman, Bogdan and Scott Bolonozhko immigrated from the Ukraine to the United States in 1992 in pursuit of a better life and religious freedom, which Ukraine was only just beginning to experience after the fall of Communism. The band was formed in 2005, and soon after they were in the studio recording their debut album which released in late 2007. SONSOFDAY toured relentlessly in support of the project, including major festivals such as Creation West, where they took first place in the 2008 Creation West Indie Band Talent Search.

Top-selling Reggae band celebrates 20th anniversary with new album and continued worldwide touring in the new year
NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- While many bands are struggling on the road in a slumping economy, gospel reggae band Christafari has maintained a relentless worldwide tour schedule. In the last eight months alone, the 10-piece band (recognized as one of the Top 10 Reggae Artists in the World by Billboard Magazine) has performed over 80 shows in 20 countries, including concerts in the USA, Iceland, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Germany, The Netherlands, England, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, Antigua, Trinidad and Brazil (where they performed to a crowd of 80,000 in February!).
In August, Lion of Zion Entertainment released Reggae Redemption Songs II, the second volume of Christafari’s best selling compilation. Produced by Christafari founder and lead vocalist Mark Mohr and guitarist Solomon Jabby, Reggae Redemption Songs II is filled with new gospel reggae anthems from the top artists in the genre, including Christafari, Dominic Balli, 'Imisi, Avion Blackman, Sherwin Gardner, Solomon Jabby, Roge Abergel, Mr. Lynx, Monty G, Jennifer Howland and others.
With nearly 80 minutes of music, this ambitious recording reflects the broad spectrum of performers who represent the roots & culture movement in the gospel reggae arena. Reggae Redemption II contains a unique blend of impassioned vocals, uplifting lyrics and bass-throbbing roots reggae rhythms, while boldly proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“These are true redemption songs written by artists whose lives have been permanently changed by Jesus Christ,” states Mohr. “Song by song, it is a musical tract which leads the listener through God's plan of salvation, and into a newfound faith.”
Christafari heads off to the Caribbean and South America later this month. The group will continue touring both in the USA and internationally in 2009, with Christafari member and fellow Lion of Zion artist Avion Blackman opening in support of her latest solo CD, Sweet Life.

AWARD-WINNING VIDEO COMPANY RELEASES NEW HD DOCUMENTARY/CONCERT PROJECT
Full-Length CD Will Accompany DVD
For Immediate Release (Nashville, TN): Franklin Springs Media has released a new documentary and full-length, high definition concert of original music written and performed by Nathan Clark George entitled "Pull Up A Chair: The Story and the Songs with Nathan Clark George." An accompanying CD of the live concert with three bonus studio tracks is also being released as "Pull Up A Chair: A Live Musical Conversation with Nathan Clark George."
The "Pull Up a Chair" DVD was produced and directed by Christian music veteran Ken Carpenter. Carpenter took home the Dove Award for Long Form Video in 2007 for Amy Grant 's Time Again, and in 2006 for Mark Schultz' A Night of Story and Songs. Carpenter also recently produced and directed the latest John Tesh television special - John Tesh Alive. He is currently producing and directing multiple episodes of a new human-interest television show hosted by author Joni Eareckson Tada. Through his Franklin Films production company, Carpenter has produced projects for many of the leading names in Christian entertainment and ministry, including Michael W. Smith, Compassion International, Steven Curtis Chapman, The Gideons, Jeremy Camp, eHarmony, dcTalk, Integrity Publishers, Mercy Me, Big Idea Productions, Casting Crowns, and many others.
In 2005, Carpenter launched a new production company, Franklin Springs Family Media. "Pull Up A Chair: The Story and the Songs with Nathan Clark George" is the newest DVD from Franklin Springs Family Media, which has produced fifteen other films in their first three years. "When I first became familiar with Nathan's incredible music, I was knocked out by his musicality," explains Carpenter. "When I came to know the incredible story of his family life, I knew we had to make this project. What I trust people will see in Nathan is, yes, a very talented singer/songwriter, but probably more important, I hope they enjoy the portrayal of a man who is fiercely committed to the adventure of raising a family that will advance God's Kingdom. It's a wonderful mix of great music, the sheer fun of traveling around the country in an R.V., and the seriousness of a very purposeful family."
Nathan Clark George has been making a name for himself in the independent music community for several years and has been acknowledged by the Independent Music Awards for previous projects. In the Christian music community, George has been named Acoustic Artist of the Year two years in a row by Indieheaven. Best known for his ability to put music to scripture, George's style has been compared to James Taylor and Jim Croce by some reviewers, though George himself admits to a more classical influence in his music. "I grew up listening to classical music," says George, "but I also like people like Shawn Colvin and Lyle Lovett. I have an eclectic mix of influences."
The three bonus tracks on the CD were produced by Mitch Dane (Jars of Clay) and the CD's first single to be released this month is "What if I Were in the Garden." A one-hour television special has been made from the DVD and will air on the NRB Network on January 21 and 22 and SkyAngel on January 24 and 25. Print ads and email blasts are being targeted to various media outlets including American Family Association and home schooling networks, as Nathan and his wife are avid home schoolers. A music video of the CD's first single is also in the works.
