GMM: When did Sherwood pictures get started?
Jim McBride: We started around the end of 2002-03, we began with Fly Wheel and then we started selling it on
GMM: How has God used Sherwood pictures what is your mission statement?
Jim McBride: We reach the whole world, through Albany, Georgia at Sherwood Baptist Church, the whole world with the word with a passion for Christ for all people, the neat thing about our church, in the beginning 51 years ago the church is always helping others centers with world with the gospel the current movie is about continuation of what church is been about.
GMM: Do you believe that the Passion for Christ has open doors new for more Christian films?
Jim McBride: Yes, I also believe it’s an underserved work typically one to two Christian films a year, they come out but there is a large part these things American and these picture have been seen, I think Facing the Giants and Fireproof are the heartland of America and potential for more films.
GMM: What are your major challenges in Christian films?
Jim McBride: One of the things with Sherwood there are 1200 members that take part in our films. A movie is always a challenge.
GMM: How many movies have you produced for Sherwood pictures?
Jim McBride: Fireproof was our third movie, Flywheel was our first and then there was Facing the Giants.
GMM: Do you see Christian films movie as having their own network?
Jim McBride: I think that is a great idea and there seems to be an audience for this type of market, It is an undeveloped market when it comes to television, movies all forms of entertainment.
I think it is an opportunity for many more people to get involved in these kind of things produced.
GMM: What would you say to others or up and coming Christian films who are looking at Sherwood pictures as a ministry?
Jim McBride: The most important thing to anybody out there is knowing God’s will, whether it is your church, your ministry. The first is going to God in prayer and let God speak to you. For some people its movies and for others it maybe a homeless shelter for their community. It knows Gods will for their ministry and their church.
GMM: How do you see Christian film industry in the future?
Jim McBride: I think that the success of Fireproof and the success of the Passion of Christ is a wonder
I think the intention of Hollywood is to see more of Christian films in the future, hopefully we will see similar success and this will inspire Hollywood to produced more and put more in the market.
GMM: What are your future plans for Sherwood Pictures? Do you have any others movie coming out?
Jim McBride: Right now we are in a season of prayer, as in the previous three movies we ask God for direction. Before we make another film or movie we wait to see what Gods plan and will is for us and asking God for his direction in prayer. We feel that just because God did something one way does not mean its automatic, it is important we seek the will of God.
GMM: I thank you for your time, and one thing I wanted to say about the movie it is a wonderful gift for anyone, or couple.
Jim McBride: This film we feel is an awesome witness for any marriage and couples everywhere. Thank you and God Bless.
