Go Where One Man Has Gone Before
By: Kim Black
"Our attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made him nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
"Therefore, dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose." (Philippians 2:1-18, NIV)
The Holy Spirit said to me "Change the focus from Adam, to Christ. The title is 'Go Where One Man Has Gone Before, Jesus. "
I asked the Holy Spirit "Where did Jesus go?"
HE said "All the way with God. Christ obeyed His Father, our Father."
HE said:"Jesus, who is God spirit, was made in human likeness (flesh and bone). We are human flesh and bone made in God likeness spirit.
"When you disobey God, we identify with Adam, our old nature, flesh and bone. Adam, made in the image of God, acted diametrically to God in whose image he was made. Death came to all mankind through Adam."
"When we obey God, we identify with Christ, our new nature, spirit. Christ did as His Father in heaven. Life came to all mankind through Christ."
The Spirit continued "Christ experienced humanity--us. Now we experience his spirit--Him."
We are more than an image of HIM. We are the tabernacle of the living God just as Christ was while on earth."
"Did Christ while in the flesh and filled with the Spirit of God, obey His Father?" Yes!”
"Then we have to go where one man, Jesus, has gone before. Obey God, not Adam. Obey the unseen, not the seen."
HE [Jesus] said, 'The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.' Then he said to them all: 'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.' “(Luke 9:22-24, NIV)
Enjoy the journey!
