Born Cheryl ‘Coko’ Clemons, known to everyone as ‘COKO’ is no stranger to the music business and number one hits. Formally lead, in girl group SWV (Sisters With Voices ) and now blowing up the gospel charts with such artist as Kirk Franklin and now a new solo Christmas CD, ‘A COKO Christmas’. She has also added such long time friends George Huff, who has duet with COKO on her Christmas CD, and David Caton, who produced four of the tracks. She also helps promote friend and new and upcoming artist, one to watch Dion Tippon.
It is apparent she has worked very hard on this CD and also the one to watch for 2008-09, stamping her signature on this CD, a must have for your stocking stuffer for Christmas. We talked with COKO on her new Christmas CD, and this is what she had to say.

GMM: ‘We thank you for your time COKO.’
COKO: Sure you welcome.
GMM: When was the first time you realize you were gifted in song?
COKO: This is all I knew as a child my mother was an influence, and help with my vocals.
GMM: Where did you get your first start?
COKO: I grew up in the church, my roots.
GMM: How did you come about this Christmas CD, what made you want to do a Christmas CD?
COKO: It was my manager’s idea for the next record.
I shared a duet song together on this CD with my long time friend George Huff, the track is ‘Give love on Christmas Day.’
David Caton produced four new tracks, also look for up incoming David Tipton, one to watch for 2009.
GMM: What or who lead you to believe your life would never be the same?
COKO: The birth of my children, I never known love like a love of my two sons Jalen 5 and Jazz 13, and my husband, who is the drummer, they influenced the music.
GMM: Would you like them to get into music?
COKO: I want them to do whatever makes them happy.
GMM: How has this experience changed your life, was it easy to walk away from singing the lords music to secular transition at that time to SWV roots.
COKO: I love RB- I have always love RB music and it was something I always wanted to do. I did it and I learned a lot.
GMM: Where do you see YOURSELF AND God taking you?
COKO: Still singing, working on my ‘Record Label Dolls Music,’ my new record label company.
GMM: Do you have any last words for your fans?
COKO: Everyone thank you for the love and support through the years.
